Studio
Starting in 1986 Ariadne worked as design consultants for a number of UK companies and produced collections for distribution. We used traditional methods of textile design, working in watercolour and gouache and both screen printing and digital printing.
Our influences come from paintings, period furnishing, our own archive of antique textiles and an extensive art and design library.

Ariadne History
Ariadne produced a highly successful collection of period designs with a subtle, rich, muted palette and a tea-stained background in the mid eighties. These fabrics still have a devoted clientele. We have worked with a number of major UK and US companies: Borderline, GMW Design and Gustavian and Mulberry, Travers and Rosselli.
Our first commission was to develop a new palette for Hodsoll Mackenzie and introuduce fresh document designs for their launch in the US.
While developing our own collections for distrubution through Beaumont and Fletcher we created a collection for Osborne and Little which has been used in several tv period dramas see right.Rosamund Pike in Love in a Cold Climate.
Our own silk collection was woven by Gainsborough Silk Weaving company in Suffolk in the UK.
